 Growth!!!!
Well I finally got Troy to measure Baylynn, we have been wondering if she has grown any more. She is a well rounded 29 by 29 inch's, she is starting to fill out a lot and getting thicker, finally. Mutant is a prefect 26 by 26 inches.. We haven't been able to weigh them as of yet..Mutant is still a little thin, but after seeing Baylynn starting to thicken out we are not worried at all.

 Re: Growth!!!!
Usually, they'll keep growing till about 2 or 3 years old. At least that's what I've noticed.

 Re: Growth!!!!
Yesterday after seeing the cute haircuts that Geiser (1 day younger than Dory) and Hanna (Dory's sis) have I am taking Dory to get a nice summer cut sometime this week.

Ivan would benefit from a close shave, but we love his swirly coat! So I compromise and hose him down everyday to keep him cool. That and his rolling through the sprinklers keeps my floors nice and wet. Nice.

 Re: Growth!!!!
After Dory drinks from her water bowl there is always a fresh deposit of sand at the bottom from her beard.

 Re: Growth!!!!
I have the same experience! I swept up my floor yesterday and Ivan stuck his face in the pile before I could get to it! He looked up at me with a sandy face! Tan speckles on black...not so good! But nothing a towel can't fix. He's always fishing for goodies that the girls have dropped on the floor.

The Couch that Growth can't kill !!!!
We know very well first hand how the sandy wet floors work..(LOL) Baylynn is a real prissy girl and doesn't care to get wet but she will walk in the water at the pond when we go down, but the hose? FORGET IT there is no way in H3LL I can give her a bath, only Troy can do that for me, He is the only one who can catch her when she plays "Catch me if you can" But Mutant is a total water hog! He will find it even if it is only a cup in the road and he will roll in it. (LMAO) Mutant swims, rolls, baths, or takes a mud bath in anything he can find, even muck! then if he can without getting caught will roll all over the bed to soften it up for daddy. Then to the couch, so we now have a dog proof couch..(BIG SMILE) then of course is the floors,, he will knock over his water bucket if he gets too hot and his fan isn't enough or the air conditioner. We had a futon with an oak frame and it wore out. I refused to get a new couch because I couldn't fine one I liked or was big enough for our dogs. So I begged and begged Troy to make me one out of 2 x 6 oak.. We have the best mattress we could find at the time so I wasn't about to get rid of it. Just like a woman huh? (LOL) After he was done with his first time experiment couch I sanded and stained it. We have had it for 2 years now.. He wants to make a nicer one but I can't part with it. It is as heavy as sin but STRONG as crap! Well not crap but it is strong. Mutant and Baylynn can jump on it and it doesn't move, slide or jiggle. Troy has a habit of over building so things last. He wants to make me a nicer style of couch but I have gone through this one with dogs, puppies chewing, cats, goats, and sheep when we had babies (livestock) in the house and it has never wavered on me, never broke ,or gotten torn up.. The prefect couch for a farm life. I did clean the mattress and order a (vinal) leather faux cover so it would be better dog proof and now I have my dream couch. One an earthquake could not move. (LOL). And 3 new mops for Mutant. (LOL) (didn't u guys miss my weird and sick humor? (LMAO)..I know I did!

 Re: Growth!!!!
Speaking of beard showers... Thankfully, I am not given to prissy furniture, and I believe in durability and practicality. I have a nice couch/love seat set that is covered with a taupe microsuede. (If you're in the market for furniture, folks, and you have a BRT, I recommend dirt-colored microsuede.) Add to that fact that I'm a bit of a neatnik. Well, my couch and love seat are arranged in an L shape and my BRTs have found it quite a convenient setup. After they have a drink in the garage (or if a guest has left a toilet seat up) and if they can sneak in without me drying down their beards, they will use my furniture to tidy themselves up. The cushions are at just the right height for a BRT napkin, so they will go the length of the L one direction and then turn around and wipe down the other side. Sometimes I will walk in and the cushions are pushed up from their rubbing along side. Jeez!

 Re: Growth!!!!
I just put my couch on sliders. That way, when the dogs slam into the furniture, I don't have to worry that the dogs get hurt. Snicker. No really, my dogs rearrange my furniture And my son gets a ride!

 Re: Growth!!!!
ROFL...I never considered that my BRTs would get hurt, it's my furniture I worry about...I have considered bolting down my furniture though, and have removed almost all my "tabletop" items. 4 dogs and 1 cat and a person begins to make the craziest accomodations. Toilets seats always down (BRTs), trash cans all have lids (all dogs), no plush, stuffed or furry toys (dachshunds), bare tabletops (cat), solid flooring (everyone), I'm having to change my white floor length curtains b/c the BRTs like to tussle by the back door, feeding/watering in the garage (bbh BRTs), closet doors closed, kitty litter and cat food behind a closed door. I love my animals, but maybe I really should live in a barn.

 Re: Growth!!!!
You got me laughing my ass off here!!! I have my self feeder(cat food) sitting on top of the washer and the cat litter (Used only in the winter because the ground freezes over) on the dryer to keep the dogs away from it, but Baylynn is getting soooo tall that she can stick her nose up that high now..(LMAO) Mutant isn't that tall thank goodness. I have a gate in the kitchen door way that I keep closed when I'm not in the kitchen so that none of my 8-eight dogs can get into the kitchen for garbage, cat food, of our food! Living on a farm doesn't help,, (LOL) we do and they still get into everything.. Thanks to Troy for having the foresight and building or reinforcing all our furnature, couch, bed and so on..(LMAO) The only problem I have anymore is with the water bucket. I don't really have anywhere to put it out of the house. We tried placing it in the dog pen. If the water gets to hot mutant will dump it and lay in it, he won't drink it and then all the other dogs go thirsty.
