Here at Russian Bear Kennels, we work to preserve and promote the Black Russian Terrier to the best of our abilities. These are not a breed for the masses but they are a breed for the discerning, who are willing to adopt a new member into the family - not just "purchase" a pet.

Owning a brt is a lifelong commitment on both your and your brts part. They will give you undivided attention, undemanding love and unbelievable devotion. They will pour their heart and soul into your safety and protection and ask only that you keep them close to you always. They are also addictive - you can never own just one!!

She is a new Champion - she was at a show where there was only one other open bitch for a 2 day show which would only be 1 point per day - she needed 3 points to finish - but she would not get it unless she won over the Special that was entered - and she DID!! She went BOB yesterday over the Special and BOS today for the point so she finished her Championship in Style!! She is of course a full litter sister to Flea (Filimon) and Fainia!!! Way to go!!!!

NEWS!!!!!!! PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Just want to let every one know what is happening this year with our new organization. AWDF: Myself and Ann Marie Chaffin (director of judges) attended the AWDF annual meeting held in Indianapolis the end of May. Our presentation let everyone know we were moving forward with our organization and we were voted in as full members.!! We were the only club voted in, the others stayed as guest status. So we are excited about that. BST: The AWBRTA has put together a BST (breed suitability Test) for the Black Russian Terrier. Looking at what was done in Russia and what we have here we came up with our own. I have attached it for those who want to look it over. Judges College: The Weekend of August 7th the AWBRTA will be hosting its first Seminar/Judges College to license Judges to be able to Judge the BST working phase only. We have tried to make if very affordable for people to come. As we need people to Judge this. We will use a FCI judge to judge the conformation phase of the test. Pedigree database: The AWBRTA has purchased a pedgree database and we will now be able to register dogs to keep track of their titles owners ect. This was a big step in moving us forward. Website. We have had some trouble getting our website up but we now have somthing up as basic as it is for those to link to. We will continue to grow our website and make changes and hopefully find a webmaster to take it over. Edea is like the Energizer Bunny......

she keeps going and going and ..... she makes me tired reading all her accomplishments!!! This is her latest email - "Just got back from Texas. Riki finished her adult National IABCA championship, got 2 certificates on her Ehren and got a Group 1, 2 and 3. One of the judges hated BRTS!!! He wouldn't even look at her in BIS or in his group. Macha got her Junghund (14-18 mos) nat'l and Internat'l championships and a Group 1 and 3" I dont think I have room or the ability to list all their titles - maybe one day Edea will write them all out for me

Our Deepest Sympathies to Farzad and Family

AKC CH Legenda Chiornyy Prints, RN, TT, CGC - aka Gradule - passed away this past weekend after being diagnosed with cancer. Farzad found a growth on her ear about 6 months ago and had it looked at and was told it was a sarcoma. Even after treatment and surgery she had the aggressive type of cancer that is terminal. She is the litter sister to Saint, as well as Lebedushka, Legenda, Latoshka and Lovelas - and is also the granddaughter to my Raddy and daughter of Baloven. She was a very sweet girl and a much loved family member and will be sorely missed.

Im BACK!!! (not really news - more like an Omen ;)) )

We are back online and running again - as many of you know I have an extremely active electronic black thumb - able to take out anyones prize electronics at the single touch of a key - and it held true this past month. Ed and I left town to make a run up to Knoxville before the 4th and he managed to hurt his eyes making us stop at an emergency room - (it wound up not being as serious as we thought but when it comes to your eyes - you get overly touchy - this said from the person who cant watch a visine commercial ) - on the way - we dropped off my computer as well as Eds for Eddie to fix as I somehow turned a laptop into an ipad (dont ask) and had messed up Eds computer as well. When we returned home we found out the workers I had contracted had somehow dug up and destroyed our cable line and it took them until today to replace it - so we have been limited in our use of the internet for a while - sorry to be so long winded (as most of you know I can be ) - but - it seems everything but my phone is now working as it should (at least for a while ) and I hope to have a new phone and new service provider this week.

Yesterday in Indiana Master took a 3 point major to finish his AKC Ch in Style - he belongs to Leo & Yelena Merman and is the "brother" to the Bruce daughter Iza (AKA Markiza Chiornyy Prints). Boris - the Radomir and Leeza son - took BOB. Congrats to all the participants!!
